Well I guess Im due for a new post already...Just haven't been spending any time at my crafting table the last few weeks...I had surgery on Jan 9th so Ive been down and out for awhile....Thanks u Jesus for answering our prayers and that everything went well!!! ..so right now Im basicially resting and healing...
Anyways I did make this quick non- traditional Valentine card...The heart is a die cut that Ive had in my stash but never used it before..Love it!! and the square is also a die cut....I'm kinda loving purple for Valentines instead of the usual red and pink. Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge 120 asked us to show an image or sentiment that gives the real meaning of Christmas. It's such an encouragement when u see a challenge like that..seeing cards that reflect the true meaning of Christmas...Jesus being born in Bethlehem...God's gift to mankind....Praise to God for this most Awesome gift!!! My card is really quick and simple..I borrowed some Christmas stamps from a friend..and wanted to play with them...The wiseman stamp works great with the pointsetta folder from Sissix.

Gosh!!It's been such a long time since I last posted.... I have been making cards....just haven't taken the time to update...lately I have been making Christmas cards...Love making Christmas cards!!!...This stamped image is so adorable!!!! I find it hard to take a decent picture once u add glitter to a card...and it looks really neat on this embossing folder..I can't resist adding stickles to snowflakes... I heat embossed the stamped image and the sentiment.. I still want to make a card where I color this image with copics..

Joan's Garden Challenge

Well it looks like the challenges are back at Joan's Garden and this week we were asked to create a 6 x 5 1/2" card using two different embossing folders, two different die cuts, one sentiment, glitter and/or pearls... Was a lot of fun especially since I've never combined two embossing folders on the same card. The hardest part was using 2 dies...and since I only have a few dies..it was kinda challenging coming up with 2...The flowers are cuttlebug dies..and the Curved Rectangles are Spellbinders....I added stickles to part of my embossed image...which u dont really see in the picture

Well I FINALLY took the time to update my blog!!! Summer has been Great!!! Awesome weather!!!! plenty of garden work..Lots of fresh veggies... even managed to have campfires with friends in the evening...
I did mange to make a few cards now and then....I actually made my first Tilda card...I totally love those Tilda cards!! They are so adorable!!!..Now my coloring isn't the greatest...no copics for me yet.... the design papers that I used come from Paula over at http://paulaholifieldcrafts.blogspot.com/. I won some blog candy from her and these papers were part of the package....Thanks so much Paula.. Also my first easel card...Love making them...definately want to make more in the future.

Vellum can add such a special effect to a card!!!! I love the special look it can give...even though I have several sheets of it in my paper stash I hardly ever use it....dont know why???..but when I was recently going thru my own wedding cards....I came across one where the entire card was covered with vellum...simply beautiful!!!! so I thought hey why not try making one too..since I have vellum on hand.....and I think it turned out Gorgeous!!..only problem for me was getting a good picture.

I have always liked black and white cards..they always look so elegant!! so when I set out to make my latest card for the Liftateer group I joined on Fiskateers..I had no intention of including another color..but once I had gold embossed this long stemmed rose.. gold just seemed fit with this card..found this stamp at a garage sale...love it!!...I also made matching tag for this card..because over at Joan's Gardens their last challenge for the season is to make a card with matching tag..now I'm not really into making tags..but they seem to be the latest craze... and since Joan's Garden has a great prize up for grabs..I figured I might as well give it a try..

Yea I know Mother's Day has come and gone..but I thought I would share the card I made for my Mother-in-law...I decided to go with my favorite color PURPLE!!!..the also the most beautiful..anyways thats what I think!!! Nothing really fancy about this one..but I love how it turned out..First time that I used Spelbinders...they have been on my wish for I long time..and guess what!! I won a couple of sets in some blog candy!! The stiching around the card is a Fiskars Border punch...it adds a special effect to any card!! And the main thing ... my Mother-in law loved this card..for she has picked it up several times and commented "My that card is beautiful!!

When I saw the latest challenge over at Joan's Garden to make a Easter card using only the colors gold and white I figured I would give it a try....for I have always loved cards using just two colors..and sometimes it seems Im design paper challenged!!!!I would rather work with plain colored cardstock then with patterned paper!!! I heat embossed the butterflies..Love how they turned out...I also followed this months card sketch over at Fiskateers...

Hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend and please remember the true meaning of this special holiday...Jesus Paid it all All to Him I owe...

Im not really into making shaped cards..but I dont mind trying out new things..or making a different style card then I normally do...I joined a group of Liftateers on Fiskateers....And I love it!! Each week we're asked to lift a different card ,which is interesting and challenging at times...One thing it definately makes one go out of there comfort zone!!! We were recently asked to lift a round card...one shape Ive never made before..Im not really fond of round cards..but when I set out to make one...I was surprised how easy this card came together..Actually liked how it turned out...Sweet and simple!

Gosh!! I couldnt believe its been 5 weeks since my last post...Well anyways here is one of my latest cards..I have always loved Silhouette flower stamps...but I didnt really have any of my own..been wanting to buy some..but never see what Im looking for... Anyways I got a stamp set from my sister-in-law for my birthday that had some silhouette flowers and leaves...It just so happened that the card I was suppoed to lift from my card lifters group I joined on Fiskateers...had silhoutte flowers...I loved playing with these stamps...I also did the emboss resist technique..didnt turn out to bad!!!

1. Make a box, any kind of box will work.

3. Add a butterfly
4. Make a flower, or use a purchased one

I have been making some of these boxes to gave away as gifts...there perfect if ur looking for a last minute gift..it holds about 6 cards...and they are real easy and fun to make!!

Im sure every cardmaker loves it when they can create a card using up scraps...Now I have like tons of scraps !! so I set out to try and create a card made from scraps..when I saw this card sketch it seemed perfect for making that kind of card...I was also able to use my new butterfly punch..love how it added a special touch to my scrappy card..lol... I also applied the punched out butterflies to my card...Im sure this card would also be great using different border punches..Will definately have to try making one using different border punches!!

To me one of the most Beautiful sights in the Winter season is when u wake up in the morning and u look out ur window and the snow is all sparkly!! WOW!! I just love it!! I always think our God is an Awesome God!! creating something so BEAUTIFUL!! and he doesnt need any stickles to do it..lol...Thats what my recent card reminds me off... I've seen quite a few cards using this MS branch punch..and I really like them..so I had to try making one myself...To keep the wreath round I cut a circle with a stencil I had...I first glued one layer of branches round the circle...and the rest I just placed randomly all over the wreath till I was satisfied with the fullness of the wreath...love how it turned out!!!!

Snowflakes!! I love adding them to Chrismas cards as much as I like adding butterflies to my everyday cards...To me they add a special touch to any Christmas card...what makes it even more special is my adding glitter to the snowflakes.which I did when I made this card..I love this size snowflake!! Not sure what punch it is because someone sent me those punched snowflakes last year..and they are are really coming in handy...the postage stamps squares in the center are a cuttlebug Die..that I have had in my stash for awhile..but never used it..until now!!

With Fall being upon us there are so many challenges out there using only tans or browns on ur projects...So thats why this card was created....I have never made a card with only neutral colors..I usually like using neutals with other colors like reds or blues..because brown or tan looks good with just about any color...but I thought why not try making one thats all neutral!!..what really inspired me is this new challenge blog that I have been watching for awhile called Joan's Garden...it looks like an interesting blog...and not as mmmmany entries as most challenge blogs have..I tend to shy away from those that get over 200 enties per week..Way to many for me!

I guess its time for a new post already!!.with the Fiskateer blog hop behind me..definately was interesting..I was kind of stressed out about it!!! wondering what to post and how to set everything up...Oh well but it was fun anyways!!

About 4 weeks ago I joined a cardlifter group on Fiskateers...Each week we are supposed to lift a different card..from another fiskateer....it has definately been a challenge..but I love it!!

Last weeks lift had me totally stumped!!! When I saw the card we were supposed to lift Ifigured I think I will skip this week..because I am totally clueless here !!...But every day it kept bugging me..so I decided to Google it...How to make a side step card?? Well once I saw how to make it and had figured out how to fold it ..it came together real easy...now I wouldnt tell u how many times I changed things around or added stuff..but I like how it turned out....TFL

Now lets take a look at some of my creations and share with you my passion for crafting.. Now Im totally addicted to making cards!!!..and I love using my Fiskars tools.. so all the cards Im showing I used at least one or two Fiskar products..The first 2 cards I made using 2 different techniques.. One is the crayon resist and the other one is emboss resist. I just recently discovered them and I love them!! so if ur in the mood for something new give it a try. The fiskars tools that I used are a leaf border punch and a corner punch

My other 2 cards I made using my favorite fiskars tools,, I used a Fiskars Daisy Punch, corner punch and a border punch.... I love the look the corner punch gives to a card when u double it!!Here is a photo of the tools that I used

My other hobby I enjoy doing is sewing...A friend of mine asked me to make her a covered album for one of her kids scrapbooks..and out of sheer luck the material she gave me was orange..and I had some material left over so I couldnt resist to also make a dress for her little girl..and I have beeen wanting to try out some fancy stitiches on my new sewing machine...I think It turned out not to bad ...for the sewing products I used my Fiskar scissors...Best scissors I have ever used!! Love them!!

WOW!! It seems like ages since I last posted...but who will really know but me...lol !! since I dont get any comments unless I enter whatever I post in a few challenges...but I sure seem to get a lot of visitors!!!! Anyways this past week there were 2 online crops on Fiskars.com..tons of challenges...and lots of fun!!!and LOTS of cards made !! I think I made a total of 23 cards...but i think it all paid off since I won one of the challenges!! When I saw a color challenge for an orange and turquois card..I figured now thats a strange color combo...but after seeing some samples I actually liked what I saw...Surprise!! Surprise!! for me!!because orange is my least favorite color to scrap with.. good thing I was in the mood to step out of my comfort zone..and away from my usual colors of purple ...and the colors are so summery and cheerful..I stamped the Thank-you with orange ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder..I found some clear embossing powder at a garage sale..and it comes in quite handy when u dont have the right color embossing powder..if I have ink in the color I'm looking for it works perfect!!

Gardening or cardmaking....I love doing both...so with this beautiful weather we're having I opted for gardening...But I did manage to make this gatefold card...when I wasnt in the mood for planting or needed a break...I want to enter it in a multiple fold challenge...and since Im also busy with garden work..I didnt want anything to complicated,,,there are tons of how-to on the net how to make this card..so it wasnt that complicated..except most people use a scor pal..and make there fold on 2 dots that are on the scor pal...which left me having to figure out the exact measurement because I don't have a score pal..and guess what!! the challenge Im entering this card into the prize is a scor pal...would be totally cool if I would win!!

Ive been wondering if all cardmakers think alike..for instance sometimes when I make a card..and when its all said and done..I think to myself..Now this card is to nice too give away!! DOES THAT SOUND WIERD!!..but it does happen to me..thats the case with this card..when I finished making it..I liked it so much that I just couldnt give it up...that is until it was my only card left..and someone wanted a birthday card..soo I had to give it up...and guess what i did..I went right to work to make another one..so who knows how long I will keep this one!! lol

Patterned paper or Plain..!!

For some reason I prefer to use plain colored cardstock when I make my cards...I have visited a lot of blogs..and noticed that most people use patterned paper...some up to 3 different kinds on one card...now thats totally not my style!! Im a two color paper person...and Im not that good at coordinating patterned paper..so I simply stick to 2 plain colors..One thing I love doing is making my own patterned paper...like the one on this card..love,love those dragonflies...I guess it also depends what kind of design is on the paper..if i do use patterned paper i prefer paper that isn't too bold..I prefer small flowers not big flowers...etc etc..Im sure u get my drift!!

Beautiful Butterflies

One of my favorite things that I love to add to my cards is Butterflies..I dont know what it is about those tiny creatures ..but they just add a special touch!! and whenever I see anything such as butterfly stickers..a butterfly punch.. a stamp...or anything with butterflies I have to buy it..I just can't resist!! so I guess its safe to say they are my favorite embellishment..The cute little butterfly I found at Dollarama...isn't it aborable!!..it's attached to a tiny stick..but I just removed it and adhere it to my cards..totally love it!!..and the tiny butterflies in the corner are from a MS punch..which I couldnt resist buying..lol ..plus I found these challenges where I can enter my card

I came across a video today where it showed how to paper pierce with the sewing machine..looked easy enough!!..so I figured I would give it a try..U have to remove the thread from the sewing machine..and I used a zig-zag stitch..Mine sure didnt turn out as nice as the one in the video..I had to practise a few times..till I got the right stitch lenght..next time I would use a bigger needle..TFL :))) Regena

Bling and Bows!!

Two of my favorite things that I love adding to cards are Bling and Bows..sometimes when u make a card..and something seem to be missing..I usually add a few blings and /or a bow...Both usually add a finishing touch to any card..so when I found a couple of challenges that called for Blings/ Bows..I thought this challenge was to good to pass up..

Purple!! My favorite color to scrap!!

For some reason..I love making purple cards...It's my #1 colour when I make cards..whenever I buy any item to scrap..guess what colour I always choose...U guessed it!! Purple!!..I can never have enough purple cardstock...and there are soo many different shades..I made this card to enter into a few challenges...I embossed the Thank you with silver..but its didnt take a good pic..it does look better in real life :)

Are there ever some really cool colour combination one can try when making cards!!..colors which u figure Hey!! those 2 dont mix but when u put them together they actually look good!!like brown and blue..or purple and yellow..one of my fav is pink and green..just love that color combo..so when the Cuttlebug Spot had this challenge for Pink and green I thought I would give it a whirl!!I think it didnt turn out too bad.

Im sure everycardmaker has made a card that they weren't sure if they liked the way it turned out..Thats the case with this card..Im not sure if I like the way it tured out. My card layout was inspired by the sketch challenge at Our Creative Corner! ...and when all was said and done..I couldnt decide if I liked it or not..oh well I guess that happens to all of us..none the less Im still entering it ino the challenge ..never know what will happen..and by all means if u happen to view this card do share what u would have done differently..TFL..Regena

I have been wanting to make a Flower Pot card for awhile now and when I saw this challenge it got me going..It was great for trying out my new Fiskars Daisy punch..since I LOVE butterflies I couldnt resist adding them to my pot..With so many Spring challenges out there I guess I can enter it into these challenges

On Saturday my sister-in-law and I spent the day making cards...and one of the things I tried for the first time was heat embossing..something I have been wanting to do for a long time..but I didnt have a heat gun..but my SIL had one..And I totally loved it!!even though my first attempts didnt turn out to good..but I figure with practise it will get better..Plus Im totally hooked!! now I want to emboss everything!!..Anyways here is one of the cards..
